Planners must also foresee that some events may suffer mishaps and be prepared for them in advance. A planner’s educational requirement is a bachelor’s degree in hospitality, tourism, marketing, or in business administration. A master’s degree or a PhD may be required for some major planning activities. Rich experience is often the most important requirement. Many do not have advanced education to begin with but worked with the best in the business and that is usually enough.
