Humana's Meeting & Event Planning team (MEP) supports the enterprise by providing management and oversight of planning and execution of meetings and events. Our mission is to help our business partners strategize business segment goals, increase engagement, manage and forecast meeting expenses, and deliver pertinent information to associates and external partners, providers, and stakeholders. Our goal is to create the best experience at the lowest reasonable cost.
The Project Manager 2 will consistently deliver exceptional service to our business partners and vendors through excellent program management. This position is an integral part of our team and will be responsible for managing, supporting and/or executing various events, from initial request through execution and final reconciliation. This role will also build key internal and external relationships, optimizing business results by forming productive partnerships with associates in other business areas and with outside vendors.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple projects, think on their feet, and communicate effectively both internally and externally. We're seeking a creative, organized and enthusiastic individual who has the ability to successfully manage stakeholder relationships and expectations.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Work directly with event stakeholders (including attendees, sponsors, and vendor partners) to maintain relationships and act as a trusted advisor through strong internal and external communications
Manage to the business partner's budget, possibly guiding them in a more realistic direction
Partner with our third-party event management company to source, negotiate, plan, and execute events
Oversee and utilize web-based meeting and event management tools, including online registration, event websites, and virtual event platforms
Provide proactive consultation on budgetary and logistic issues to fellow associates and senior business leaders
Manage business partner and vendor expectations to ensure expectations are realistic, attainable, and exceeded
Support fellow planners when needed
Skills Required:
3 or more years of direct work experience in corporate meeting or conference planning
Decision making in ambiguous situations and use of independent judgement
Superb project management skills, initiative, and creativity
Works independently with accountability
Capable of establishing and nurturing relationships
Ability to position themselves as an experienced planner to immediately gain the trust of the key stakeholders/business partners
Critical thinker
Thinks strategically - knows the right questions to ask and recommendations to make when kicking off an event
Demonstrates leadership and ownership of programs
Manages relationships with ease, navigates difficult situations and people
Identifies issues before they arise and considers mitigation plans Comes to the table with a strategic voice and ideas to enhance events or project management
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously

Additional Information
Travel: This role will require some travel but is not guaranteed. It is dependent on location and scale of meetings that are being supported. Max travel is 25%
Work hours: It is typical that event execution will require a shifted work schedule. Expect to work longer hours on event/meeting days.
Flexible work environment: Either hybrid (mixture of in-office and at-home) in Louisville, KY or WAH
Must have accessibility to high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (satellite internet service is NOT allowed for this role); and a minimum internet connection speed of 10M x 1M
