Job Description:
This is role will be reporting to the Business Opportunity Manager, the Senior Development Planner has a high-profile role that is responsible for the progression significant emissions reduction opportunities at the Shell Scotford Energy & Chemical Park (including Scope 1 & 2 emissions) through the relevant phases of the stage-gated project delivery process. The Senior Development Planner integrates across the Technical, Economic, Commercial, Organizational, and Political aspects of the project, along with the commercial and non-technical teams to maximize the value delivery of the opportunity. The scope, in part, includes a JV.
Accountabilities:
Provide Development Planning support for significant Scotford Energy & Chemical Park emissions reduction opportunities
Integrate across TECOP (Technical, Economic, Commercial, Organizational, Political) aspects of the project(s)
Deliver engagement materials with very senior decision parties. (GMs, VPs )
Help to establish an Integrated emissions reduction opportunity, that can assess and mature CO2 reduction prospects
Help to establish the value chain across the assigned projects
Deliver assurance plan & facilitate assurance events to meet Decision Gates
Deliver decision quality frame for highly complex strategic project that requires extensive TECOP integration and to support its development
Own and deliver the evergreen Decision based Roadmap. This Roadmap provides overall coordination of activities across the TECOP and highlights key decisions, by whom, and interdependencies. Ensure these considerations are reflected.
Deliver the evergreen threat and Opportunity Matrix and ensure risks are managed per the risk matrix (Ensure that these are actively managed and accurate)
Deliver the evergreen Stakeholder Matrix to ensure all engagements plans are active
Embed and execute the Shell project delivery process (Project Management Framework within the Opportunity – will become a Subject Matter Expert in this area)
Preparation of multi-year Revex/Capex forecasts for integration with Business Plan
Commercial scope includes full value chain set-up
Support development of Economic valuation model and representation of key project risks as sensitivities in the analysis, output being a staircase representation of value delivered
Skills & Requirements
Min 10 years of related experience, preferably in the energy industry
Minimum BSc (science or related field); MBA would be considered an asset, although not required
Extensive TECOP integration understanding/knowledge
Technical experience within CCS, hydrogen, or refining is an asset.
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
